Conch Republic Seafood Company Restaurant Reviews
Key West,
Florida is home to the Conch Republic Seafood Company. It doesn't get any
better than to sit at a waterfront restaurant and watch the sun go down. We
stepped back in to time as we entered the outdoorsy themed establishment
that is under a tin roof. There is so much history right there!
Conch Republic Seafood Company is the largest rum bar between Miami and
Cuba! We had 80 different kinds of rum to choose from. We sat at an 80 foot
bar surrounded by 4 large saltwater aquariums and stared at a 1200 lb.
copper still behind the bar. What an amazing atmosphere!
Florida and Caribbean seafood creations are prepared by the team of
skillfully trained chefs. The Seafood is brought in fresh daily by the local
fishing boats. The full menu is served every day, with a late night menu at
the bar. The staff is so friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We
had wonderful service.
We sampled all the local favorites such as, conch chowder, conch fritters,
smoked fish dip, fresh tuna and Key West pink shrimp. Everything was as
fresh as it gets! We enjoyed all kinds of seafood just hours old off the
boats. Local fish such as Yellowtail Snapper, Mahi Mahi and Grouper were
prepared several different ways on the menu. The land lubbers in our group
ate 100% black angus steaks. For dessert, we could not pass up the home made
key lime pie! The key limes are a local grown smaller yellow lime. It was
just sinful! We went back later that night for some Conch Republic rum cake
as a late night snack. Everything was so wonderful, we could not stay away!
The Conch Republic Seafood Company is located right in old town Key West. It
is open 7 days a week serving lunch and dinner. It was with in walking
distance to all the important things to see. The setting was like being cast
back into time, we sat on a working fishing dock lined with quaint little
shops. The winding dock sprawled like a promenade that went on for ever. We
were sitting right in the middle of all the activities sipping on frozen
tropical drinks.
Our next trip to Key West will definitely include many visits to the Conch
Republic Seafood Company. We will recommend it to anyone we know heading
down that way.
