The
Bagatelle restaurant in Key West, Florida is located on Duval Street right
in the heart of old town near the best hotels. The Bagatelle makes it's home in a historic house
built in 1884. We were impressed by the old world charm and the
architectural detail to the house. The wrap around porch made it a great
place to sit and people watch the locals and visitors alike.
The Bagatelle is a blend of French, Caribbean and the indigenous flavors of
the Florida Keys. The chef uses only fresh local caught seafood and fresh
produce. We viewed one of the largest wine list in the Keys while we, sipped
on one of the many trendy specialty martinis.
We found it unique that the Bagatelle served breakfast all day. The French
style pastries were baked fresh daily. The breakfast menu had a combination
of traditional, unique and out of this world dishes. We tried a breakfast
Lobster Burrito and Bananas Foster French Toast. Our friends had lunch and
it was amazing! The lunch selections on the menu had such an international
fair to choose from. They ordered Cuban Street Tacos, Guava BBQ Shrimp
wrapped in bacon and Chicharrone De Pescado. The last meal mentioned is a
Peruvian specialty of lightly breaded fresh Mahi bites with lime cilantro
marinated onions. It was so tasty good!
The dinner menu listed so many wonderful entree choices. We noticed the
Seafood Chowder made in a sherry cream broth. Fresh Tuna, Muscles Bagatelle
and BBQ Key West pink shrimp were just some of the many starters that caught
our eye.
Fresh local caught fish and Florida lobster were listed on the entree menu.
Whole Fried Thai Yellowtail Snapper, Honey Fried Florida Lobster and
delicious Surf & Turf made our mouth water. We could have sipped on martinis
the rest of the day, right on to dinner.
The Bagatelle's service was outstanding. We were really taken care of and
the food was so wonderful. The Chef had such a way of infusing all the
international flavors together. We tried an amazing selection of menu items.
We wish we had time to stay for dinner.
We will definitely try the Bagatelle again on our next visit to Key West. It
was out if this world! We will with out a doubt recommend the Bagatelle to
our friends and family.
