Old Customs House Inn Key West Reviews
The
Old Customs House Inn in Key West, Florida, is a beautiful two story guest
house in a lush tropical setting. Conveniently located right on Duval Street
where all the action is, the entranceway is in a courtyard set back off the
street behind the World's Smallest Bar (it really is) and the Jungle Room Cafe.
The conch-style house comes complete with traditional old Key West flavor. Wide
verandas invite evening conversation, large windows catch the ocean breezes, and
hand-carved balustrades recall the meticulous craftsmanship of an earlier time.
Warm wood floors, quirky island decor and friendly staff make this truly a
vacation spot to remember.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, featuring sheer curtains to diffuse the
light while allowing privacy and airflow, a comfortable bed piled high with
pillows, a sitting room furnished with island wicker and a kitchenette for a
romantic (or economical) dinner in. One of the most charming spots in the guest
house is the garden hot tub, sunk in a wooden deck, surrounded by tropical
foliage, its a little private piece of heaven. After a long day of fishing,
beaching or sightseeing, you can grab a drink and soak out away your troubles.
Adding to the homely feel, you'll share your vacation with the not-so-wildlife,
including a parrot named Pickles, a cat or two, and some friendly puppies that
call the inn home.
The location of the Old Customs House Inn is ideal. It's just a short walk to to
Mallory Square for the world famous sunset and the celebration that ensues every
evening. Duval Street is home to shopping, night clubs, bars and restaurants,
street performers of many descriptions, and a constant parade of unusual
vehicles. Just watching the Key West world go by can be quite an adventure. Grab
a porch swing or hammock and enjoy the cool ocean breezes, find a quiet little
neighborhood bar and sip frozen fruit drinks, or jump into the wild night life
and kick up your heels. Key West offers something for everyone, and the Old
Customs House Inn is smack in the middle of everything.
Key West natives have a saying "Once you have sand in your shoes, you can never
leave". The Old Customs House Inn will make you feel like you've come home. It
won't be easy to pack your bags and go back to real life after tasting the
authentic flavor of island life at the inn.
