Lighthouse Court Key West Reviews
My recent three night
excursion at Lighthouse Court Key West, was absolutely delightful. The
location was ideal. It was right next to a charming Lighthouse in addition
to being within walking distance of Duval Street (heavily populated.) A
local grocery store took care of all my food needs, saving me the expense of
dining at the neighboring restaurants. The pool wasn’t anything special, but
the serene locale made the experience exceptional.
The staff at the hotel was extremely polite, while also being quite
considerate to any of my requests. The hotel was particularly clean and well
kept. My only complaint would be that I didn't sleep all that well, but by
no means the fault of the hotel. The breakfasts made up for any tossing and
turning I had during the night though.
I had a few problems with the parking but after a while I found a good spot
and left the car there, because I could easily walk to everything right from
the hotel.
I enjoyed my afternoons sitting at the poolside bar. The bartender was good
company and advised me on some sites to see. I actually took his advice and
rented a bike from a local shop. The weather was fabulous at the time,
allowing me to easily spend a whole day just exploring. All in all, my stay
at Lighthouse Court was pleasant and exceedingly tranquil. In fact, I’d be
more than willing to stay with them again in the future.
If you want to experience the
feel of old Key West think about staying at Lighthouse Court. Unlike the
chain hotels, where everyone is in one building with look alike rooms,
Lighthouse Court offers 40 rooms spread through 10 different old fashioned
‘conch’ buildings. All the buildings were constructed between the 1890’s and
1920’s and they are reflective of that period with tin roofs, wood siding,
porches and French doors. Winding brick pathways connect the buildings which
are spread out over a half a block. The landscaping offers privacy and
intimacy.
The rooms at Lighthouse Court are best suited to one or two people. Most
rooms offer only one bed although suites are available. These may not be the
most luxurious rooms in Key West but the atmosphere more then makes up for
that.
There is a nice courtyard area with a pool and bar. The staff at the bar is
very friendly and knowledgeable. They are able to recommend the best eating
spots and point the way to any attraction you might want to see. Lighthouse
Court offers a free continental breakfast which is very good.
For location Lighthouse Court can’t be beat. From many of the rooms you can
get a view of the Lighthouse Museum which is right next door or of Ernest
Hemingway’s house across the street. If you are a Hemingway fan his house is
a must see. Lighthouse Court is just a block from Duval Street and most of
Key West’s prime tourist attractions and shopping. It is also with in
walking distance of one of the best Key West beaches, the southernmost
beach. Parking at Lighthouse Court is minimal; it is a hotel for those who
don’t mind walking. However, a short cab ride can get you anywhere you want
to go.
The staff at Lighthouse Court is friendly and helpful. They are able to help
you with any problem or concern you may have to ensure that you have the
most enjoyable stay possible. They are knowledgeable about the area and can
point you in the right direction for sightseeing or night life.
If you are looking for something out of the ordinary and off the beaten
trail try staying at Lighthouse Court on your next trip to Key West. You’ll
see why it is a favorite of so many people.
