On my recent trip to Key West I was looking for accommodations located close to Duval Street, restaurants and all the attractions the island has to offer. I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across the Pilot House Key West. Not only is this close to Duval Street but just a short jaunt to the night life of Mallory Square. The extensive grounds were beautifully done in a tropical landscape and made for a great after-dinner walk. The front desk offered rentals of bicycles or scooters which were great to use while exploring. From the moment I stepped into the lobby I felt welcomed, relaxed and tranquil.

Since I traveled alone I booked the Attic Suite, a small room but considerably different. It was complete with a private Jacuzzi and deck. Next time I'll bring my husband. I enjoy talking and meeting new people and opted, a couple of times, to use the communal Jacuzzi. I found it to be extremely comfortable and was smitten with the wood lattice and landscaping surrounding the Jacuzzi. I should mention that this is, along with the pool area, clothing optional. On both trips to the Jacuzzi everyone there happened to be wearing appropriate clothing. Actually, I found the entire experience to be very comfortable and had no issue with people sunning or swimming in the buff. It is the Pilot House's policy to cover up if you are just exploring and/or walking around the grounds.

I found the staff to be exceedingly friendly and more than accommodating. All involved were respectful and easy going and actually a lot of fun to get to know. They were more than willing and able to answer any and all questions and take on any task I had. All involved did a great job, my room was spotless, the pool crystal clear and the landscaping immaculate. I really can't say enough about the people working there.

I will certainly be staying at the Pilot House Key West on my next vacation. I couldn't imagine any other accommodation being able to come close to the beauty, location, friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room. I love that it's adults only.
