My husband and I went to Key West to reduce his extreme stress level. The Mermaid and The Alligator was exactly the place to be. Wonderful grounds, large beautiful rooms, filling breakfast, and just enough other people to make you feel at home. We found this accommodation to be amazing, especially with their wonderful concierge service. They had massages out in the gardens for us. That was an experience. The room was always immaculate. We loved the private balcony off of our room. There are a slew of little places to curl up and relax. The location is centrally located and just perfect. Close enough to the night life, but not too close. The Inn itself was well run. We cant wait to return soon and will stay longer!

My wife and I had the most relaxing, spectacular stay at the Mermaid and the Alligator at the end of May. We were a young couple at the property and always felt comfortable with the other folks. Because it was located a few blocks from Duval street, the Mermaid and Alligator is walking distance to all that we wanted to do. We walked easily to all of the night life Key West offered and returned late at night to the peaceful, quaint, perfectly romantic B&B.

The entire mansion of the Mermaid and the Alligator is unique. It's the perfect setting for the perfect Key West Vacation. As soon as we entered into the garden and viewed the kitchen, we felt welcome. Havana, was a perfect hostess, she is the resident retriever, and she greeted us with a wagging tail. She truly is part of what makes this place feel like home. Our room was extremely comfortable and has a stupendous bathroom. When they decorated the room no detail went unrecognized. The lighting and textures are spot on. There were lights over the bed and in the bathroom which made for the perfect illumination but they are on dimmers for romantic lighting. A great radio was there for us to use which my husband loved. Breakfast poolside was the perfect start to the days activities. They had a lot of cereals, fresh muffins, juice, and a selected hot entree. In the afternoons, to our delight Dean puts out a red and white wine to sip and indulge in there tropical and lush gardens. This was the perfect relaxation before you go for a tasty Key West dinner. Dean helped us find the most agreeable places to dine and suggested things to do. The hosts seemed to know how to be very helpful without being overtly overbearing. We have stayed at another location in Key West. The Mermaid and the Alligator was so superiorly better we cant say enough about it. It is tactfully unique and relaxing and made us weary travelers feel at home. I wished we could have stayed longer!
