I just got back from my vacation to Key West Florida this morning. My family and best friend also went with us to the Keys. We decided on the Merlin Guesthouse because all the reviews were good. Another reason was because it was very cheap. We stayed in their two bedroom cottage. I expected a mini-fridge and microwave. I found that the kitchen was a completely equipped with silverware, plates, were talking everything you could want. The large dining room rivaled the family room. Both of the rooms were completely furnished nicely. Both bedrooms were wonderful and very romantic. The air conditioner was nice and cold it worked quietly, which made my father very happy. I froze most nights because I like things warmer. It's in a gated compound which isn't really necessary for keeping out others like most places, this is Key West after all. It did make it feel more private and that was what we liked. Everything was very relaxed and every night my friend and family went swimming. You should know that the pool closes at ten but as long as you are quiet... The Merlin Guesthouses continental breakfast was so good for a smaller accommodation. They do charge a little more for more people. When we arrived at the Merlin they charged us 285 instead of 255 because we had more than 2 people in our room. They explained that the cottage was considered one room. The Merlin Inn Key West is a great place to relax and party. Our accommodations were only a short walk from everything you want, yet far enough away to be tranquil and serene.

I tend to spend a long time researching where to stay. My Key West Vacation was no exception, even though it was just for two nights in Key West. After a long time I booked the Merlin Guesthouse because of their rates and pictures. We had a massive room, for a guesthouse, in the back, a distance from the street noise. We experienced zero problems with other vacationers in nearby rooms. I sleep through most noises so it takes an earthquake to disturb me, but my husband does not so he can attest to the quietness! In fact I was just stunned at how quite and quaint the Merlin Guesthouse was. Especially when the huge noises of Duval street is just a block away. The ONLY problem when staying that lose to Duval was the parking issue, we had to drive for some time to park in a spot that was not only legal but nearby. The front desk clerk who checked us in was helpful on the parking problem. It only took a few beers for parking to be forgotten! I have great and happy memories of my time in Key West. Particularly the sunsets and my accommodations than miles out at a regular hotel with a large parking lot any day.
