The Blue Marlin is located in the lovely South Beach area of historic Old Town Key West, only one block from famous Duval Street, with its many quaint shops, and excellent restaurants, and only one block from the Atlantic Ocean. There are 54 spacious rooms with new carpeting, draperies, and bedspreads. Each room has contemporary oak furnishings, air conditioning, cable TV and even refrigerator (some rooms have kitchenettes.) Immaculate, tiled bathrooms are large and bright. All rooms overlook our king-sized, heated pool in a serene courtyard setting. The Blue Marlin's rates are very affordable, and AAA members receive special rates. A relaxed pace and friendly atmosphere makes Key West one of the most charming places imaginable for a vacation.

Something made me think that the blue marlin motel was a find because it was so close to everything to do in Key West. I was right. It was quiet at night and only a little loud during the day.It was very clean and the large pool was perfect! I plan on heading back in a couple of weeks to stay there again!

My friends and I stayed at the Blue Marlin Motel in Key West for two nights in May. This was our first time vacationing in Key West. We were really excited when we arrived there. I have to say that the exterior of the motel is a strange color of pink. Perhaps next time I will be staying in one of the beautiful B&Bs on the island that will allow my kids, If my budget is bigger. The front desk staff at the check-in area was very considerate and helpful about the island. The hotel is just two blocks from the famous southernmost point and about seven blocks from the ghost tour on Duval Street. We enjoyed the walk, it was nice. What surprised me was how large our room was. The room was able fit the entire party very well. It was also very clean. The pool is pretty big but not massive. It gets a great deal of sun. We wish we could have stayed longer so we could use the poo. All in mind, it was good. Not the Ritz, but a great deal. The price is what convinced us to book a room here. We paid $83.00 per night stay. I don't think I could have gotten a better deal with the short notice for so many people. Especially because of cleanliness and location.

We will choose to stay here again and again. The huge bathroom is always clean with good towels and sweet toiletries. Unfortunately all the non-smoking rooms were booked up so we stayed in a smoking room. The cool thing about that was there was totally no smoke odor. The continental breakfast was ample enough to fuel our morning. If you want to try breakfast somewhere else, the Dennis Pharmacy, close to the motel was really good. It was great being close to one of the Trolley pick-up point. Another cool feature was the proximity to the southernmost point in the United States. We would definitely recommend this motel to everyone we know.

Lets start out by saying that when my friends and I came to Key West for the first time, we had no idea where we should stay. We booked a couple of nights in Marathon Key and chose to head for Key West without reservations. I do not recommend you do this. Book in advance! We rove around for hours trying to find availability. Luckily the Blue Marlin Motel had a cancellation. The attendant gave me a rate of 119.00 per night for a couple of queens. This was an amazing rate during spring break. We were rather surprised that the Blue Marlin was actually pretty great for a motel. The pool is awesome and perfect. It was heated and really clean. The room we were able to get was big and included all the amenities you might need including, fridge, iron, stove, and a sink outside of the bathroom. Speaking of bathrooms, it was large and tiled. The only bad point was the a/c. It could have been stronger. In closing this motel was a great stay. The location is one block north of Duval Street. We could walk everyday to Duval or to popular Mallory Square. We will definitely be back.
