Azul Key West Reviews My husband and I travel to Key West every year for a little r&r. I was looking around on the internet for a place to stay in Key West that was adults only. Our last trip was a bit soured at a large name brand hotel that seemed to have more kids staying there than adults. Not that I hate kids, but when you're trying to relax in the pool, having groups of kids trying to judge a cannonball contest in the pool doesn't exactly allow one to drift away. This time it was going to be a nice inn or bed and breakfast that was adults only. Having spent so many vacations in Key West, we have stayed in some fairly low quality inns for the same price of local beachfront resorts. I've learned that if they don't offer pictures of the room, just a painted picture of the front of the hotel, that's a pretty good indication that it's not the place to stay. This website has a lot of picture, virtual tours, and even videos of all the best accommodations in Key West. I spent some time looking over the different properties and came across the Azul. Going off of the pictures alone I decided to give them a shot. It was the adults only amenity was the seller for me here. I wanted to come back and write a little review for the site, which didn't have one yet. They are new and I usually like to have at least one review of a hotel before I book it, but I figured how can you go wrong with new? I was not a t all disappointed. If you're reading this, and they actually post it, take a professional key West visitors advise and go with the Azul. All the usual rave reviews apply. The staff was friendly and professional, but had personality and seemed genuine in their concern for our vacation being the best it could be. We have developed a little test for the front desk staff of a hotel in Key West by asking what the best bars and restaurants are and see what they recommend. We have a good idea of what the best is, but sometimes you'll hear something out of ordinary. Little local secrets and discoveries while on vacation make for a good time. We like to lay out on the beach and take a dip in the water. South Beach is by far the best beach in Key West and the Azul is within easy walking distance of the beach and the quieter side of Duval. If you're new to hotels in Key West, then you should try and stay down towards the southern end of Duval st. The other end, down by Mallory Square is the place to party and then get away to your hotel down at the other end where it's quiet. Compared to the other bed and breakfast accommodations in Key West the Azul is modern in style and yet does a great job of staying tropical. A lot of the other places are kind of 80's Miami Vice kind of tropical in decor, which was great, in the 80's. The Azul has a nice and secluded pool area that is nice and quiet. We were able to sit and relax poolside while enjoying the the nice little spread of a light breakfast each morning. If you want a big breakfast that will fill you up, there are a lot of great restaurants open for breakfast near by. The Azul promises a warm, tropical, modern, luxurious, relaxing, atmosphere and delivers with ease. The beds and pillows are exceptionally comfortable. We did have a hard time getting out of bed a couple of mornings. But hey, it's Key West! The Azul is a great pick, highly recommend. I can't complain about anything.
